Laminar airflow:
In modern medical practice, medical staff needs operation theaters not just designed for surgery but also containing such large imaging equipment. This means that patients benefit from a significant gain in treatment quality and security. The architectural design of modular operating theatres and the cutting edge technologies they offer place particular demands on ventilation and air conditioning systems. Nine Sunplus Systems laminar airflow ceiling is already installed in numerous operation theatres and form a key part of the modular operation theatre solution.
Laminar airflow ceiling is used where a centralized air conditioning plant can generate sterile airflow sufficient for OT table area with low operating costs. The homogenous supply of air provided by the HEPA filter surface facilitates the use of either single-layer laminar fabric. The sterile air is blown into the operating theatre’s protection area via the entire outlet surface at very low levels of turbulence. Although the standard installation height is 520 mm, a minimum installation height of 350mm is feasible in certain projects and also special design to avoid beams interference. This compact construction offers customers considerable leeway in the lay-out of duct connections
We design our operation theatre ceiling as part of an integration OT system, the laminar airflow perfect integration of peripheral lights and ceiling panels.
According to the grade of Operation Theater, we design and develop three standard sizes of laminar airflow for class 100, class 1,000 and class 10,000 modular operation theatres respectively.
Nine Sunplus System Laminar airflow ceiling uses frames of aluminum profile. Body panels made of XPS core, powder coated steel sheet faced outside and galvanized steel sheet with PVC film faced inside. Have a medium-speed compensation device and a double-layer DPP screen of uniform porosity to create laminar airflow.
The LAF system creates a positive pressure in the OT especially giving out fresh air on the operating area; it is designed in accordance with HTM 2025 -114 for ventilation in Hospitals. The ceiling is constructed with a plenum box made of steel sheet that will introduce the highest air quality into the Operation Theatre.
The H14 grade HEPA filter can be installed in the position of vertical or horizontal based upon the space for laminar airflow ceiling.
Return air grills
To optimize the power and energy, in the most of cases, we cannot use all fresh air; we have to take 50-70% return air and 30-50% fresh air to the laminar airflow ceiling, which requires return air grills.
There is a medium effect filter installed in the return air grills, adjustable blades to lead the air flow back to the air condition system.
Independent air conditioning systems
Our independent air conditioning modular concept offers unique flexi for installation in modular operation theatre application. In some cases, there is no plant floor or less space for air conditioning unit, we develop a very compact and integrated air conditioning to make sure modular operation theatres in good running conditions.
